Advice from our agronomist

Light and position Grows in bright indirect light but tolerates part shade; variegated forms keep their pattern better in brighter spots. Strong midday sun can scorch the leaves.

Watering Water sparingly: once the soil has dried out completely, about every 2–3 weeks and even less in winter. Excess water causes root rot – do not leave water standing in the saucer.

Humidity and care Air humidity is not important. Wipe dust from the leaves with a damp cloth; avoid leaf-shine products.

Feeding and repotting Feed from spring to autumn once or twice a month with a cactus or foliage fertiliser at half strength; not in winter. Repot in spring when the pot is full of roots, using a light, well-drained mix.
